Samsung to unveil Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, a new foldable tier, on July 22

Samsung will introduce a new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra tier alongside the Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 at its July 22 Unpacked event.

Samsung has confirmed its next Galaxy Unpacked event for 22 July in London, themed “A New Shape Unfolds,” with the headline reveal expected to be an entirely new tier in its foldable lineup: the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

If confirmed, the Ultra would be Samsung’s most ambitious foldable yet, sitting above the standard Fold the way the Galaxy S Ultra sits above the rest of the S series. Leaks point to advanced display technology designed to minimise the crease that has long been a visible trade-off of foldable screens, along with a triple rear camera setup, faster charging and a more powerful chipset.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 are expected to focus on refinement, with lighter builds, thinner hinges, improved crease management and AI-driven multitasking features tied into Samsung’s Galaxy AI ecosystem.

The event will stream live on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom and Samsung’s YouTube channel at 6:30 pm IST. Samsung has already opened pre-reservations in India for a refundable Rs 999 token, with early reservers set to receive benefits worth Rs 2,799 on purchase.

Reports suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could start at Rs 1,99,990, the standard Fold 8 at Rs 1,74,999, and the Flip 8 at Rs 1,19,999, though Samsung has not confirmed pricing.
